Sm2 Sports Media Solutions, LLP

Sm2 Sports Media Solutions, LLC was founded in December of 2004 under the name Bedford Road International LLC and became Sm2 in April of 2007.

From its inception, the company’s main concentration of business has been: Sports Rights’ Negotiation and Satellite Delivery for broadcasters worldwide. In establishing a foundation in these two areas of business, Sm2 has teamed up with partners that strived for success and in some cases have been pioneers in their areas of business.

On the transmission side, Sm2’s goal is to insure that all clients receive the most technologically advanced signal at the lowest competitive price. In June 2006, Sm2 delivered, through TV2GO, the first ever frame rate converted HD signal to C More Entertainment in Sweden of Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Finals. Following this success, in late 2006, the NFL asked Sm2 to assist them in delivery of games in HD to a number of European broadcasters. In February 2007, SM2 assisted the NFL in delivering its first ever HD broadcast of the Super Bowl to its European broadcast partners.

With these early successes, and the subsequent increase in demand for HD programming, Sm2 has been able to assist broadcasters in Europe and Asia to receive HD feeds of Augusta National, US Open (Golf), Triple Crown, Wimbledon, NFL’ and the PGA Championship. In 2007, Sm2 started working closely with RR Sat in Israel to broaden its network to cover Asia and assisted with the launch of ASN, a 24/7 HD Sports Channel in Asia with origin in the US.

In 2008, Sm2 contracted 18 MHz of bandwidth on the NSS-7 satellite in order to further fulfill the ever growing demand for transmission to Europe.

In August 2009, Sm2 with TV2GO again pioneered new technology by delivering the 2009 PGA Championship to Europe and Asia in High Definition MPEG 4 9 Mhz. This was the first LIVE event delivered as such. With this success, IMG/NFL asked Sm2 Sports to deliver the entire 2009-2010 NFL Season in MPEG making IMG/NFL the first North American League to do such.

Current clients that entrust their transmissions with Sm2 Sports: IMG London, IMG New York, IMG Stockholm, TNA Wrestling, NFL, ESPN International, NBC, Augusta, B Sky B, USGA, MTV 3 Finland, NTV Plus Russia, SVT, Czech TV and Slovak TV.

In April 2010, Sm2 asked Phillip McInnes to join the Sm2 family to help deal with the constant growth in demand for competitive and technically advanced solutions.
